Dear Dr. Kootman,
One might easily complain about the protracted healing time of the DSAEK surgery, but that is nothing compared to the amazing benefit of the procedure. I was going to wait until the healing process was complete to write to you, but the improvement of my vision in my left eye has been so phenomenal that I need to send this note now and tell you so. Considering what you are doing for my vision and me, I wish I could gift you a chateau in Flagstaff, but alas I am just a poor retired teacher and an appreciative letter is the only thing I can come up with. I am herewith promising you a super, super superlative letter when the healing process is complete; and I can read Time Magazine and The Economist without a magnifying glass.
I feel so blessed to have you as my eye surgeon. Please accept my sincere wishes for a great holiday season.
